Miles lived through so many genres that they don't really matter. Mesmerizing trumpet sound is the real essence of him and his music. And this sound is present in this song and in the album. The Wikipedia says that for Doo-Bop he wanted to capture the sound of NYC streets as he heard it from his apartment's open window. To me it means that as he was closing to death he wanted to imprint his essence onto the life that went on around him. Because the sound of NYC streets is basically the sound of life and never-ending hustle and bustle that outlives everyone in the crowd , whether they create the noise or just listen to it from an apartment window. It's a most beautiful thing.
